Quartz cron expressions
Six or seven fields starting with seconds. Quartz adds L, W and #, and requires ? in one of the day fields.
At 10:15, on the last Friday of the month.

In your config
In the other dialects
“Same schedule” means the same clock times. Schedulers still treat a clock change differently, as the table on the home page shows.
Keyboard: / edit the expression, 1 to 6 change dialect, t time zone, n next clock change, c copy the link, Esc leave a field.

Special characters
?- No specific value. Put it in one day field when you only care about the other.
/- Increments from a start:
5/15in seconds is 5, 20, 35, 50.7/6in months is July only, not every sixth month. L- In day of month, the last day;
L-3is three days before it. Alone in day of week, Saturday. After a day, the last of that day:6Lis the last Friday. W- The nearest weekday, never crossing a month.
1Won a Saturday the 1st fires on Monday the 3rd. It takes a single day, not a list or range. LW- The last weekday of the month.
#- The nth weekday:
6#3is the third Friday. If the month has no fifth Wednesday,4#5simply does not fire that month. 22-2- Overflowing ranges are supported: 10 PM through 2 AM, or
NOV-FEB.
The two day fields
Specifying both day of week and day of month is not supported. One must be ?. 0 0 12 * * * throws an exception at startup, because * counts as a value.
Time zones
The JVM default zone, unless the trigger sets one: CronScheduleBuilder.inTimeZone, or setTimeZone on CronExpression.
Clock changes
The tutorial says only that fire times near a change can be skipped or repeated, and to check your locale. To be exact, this tool ports getTimeAfter from Quartz 2.5.2 and compares it with the real library across thousands of expressions and zones. In practice, on 2.5.2 a daily 01:30 fires once, in the second pass of the repeated hour, and a daily 02:30 is skipped in a spring gap. Quartz’s main branch has since changed this code, so other versions can differ.
Gotchas
- Day of week starts at 1 for Sunday, not 0.
2is Monday. - The Javadoc says months are 0–11. The tutorial and the parser say 1–12, and that is what the code enforces.
- Quartz warns against
Lwith lists or ranges because the results are confusing. Lists containingLorWare not computed here. - A date missing from a month is skipped rather than clamped:
0 0 12 31W * ?does not fire in February. - The nearest-weekday search only looks forward from today, so a trigger that starts on the 16th does not see a
15Wthat landed on the 16th because the 15th was a Sunday. This is library behaviour, and it is reproduced here.
